Our Sliding Scale / Donation Pass is designed to help dedicated students practice yoga at Shala Centre, regardless of budget. Whether you can comfortably budget $5 to $50 per class, or $30 to $200 a month, this pass is here to support you in getting to your mat consistently.
Ashtanga is traditionally a daily, ongoing practice. We find that the real beauty and transformation of this practice come from showing up for yourself consistently over time. Because of this, our sliding scale is reserved for students who are looking to build a long-term relationship with their practice and our community—it is not intended for one-time drop-ins, yoga tourism, or occasional visits.

The Commitment: Establishing Your Practice First
To ensure this pass goes to students who are truly dedicated to an ongoing practice, we require a commitment to the studio first.
Before applying for the sliding scale, we ask that all new students first complete our $30 Unlimited First Week (or a New Student Pass). This gives you the opportunity to settle into the space, experience the Ashtanga method, and demonstrate a genuine commitment to showing up on your mat. Once you have established your practice with us, we would be honored to set up a sliding scale pass to support your ongoing journey.

How It Works (Once Qualified)
1. Choose what you are able to pay for your ongoing yoga practice.
2. Email us at [email protected] to let us know whether you will be donating per class or per month.
3. We will set up your pass. Once your account is updated, you will be able to book your future classes in our system.

Karma & Work Exchange
Our sliding scale is built on a karma model. If you are in a stronger financial position, paying a little more helps subsidize a fellow student's practice.
If you need support but would like to give back to the Shala community in another way, you are also warmly invited to offer a work exchange. This is a beautiful way to help maintain our studio home while keeping the practice accessible. Please email us to inquire about current work exchange opportunities.
