Ashtanga Foundations in the Park
Step out of the office and into movement, breath, and fresh air in the heart of downtown Edmonton. This outdoor Ashtanga Foundations class is designed for beginners and anyone looking to create more balance, mobility, and focus within the rhythm of urban life.
Rooted in the traditional Ashtanga method, the class follows a consistent sequence each week rather than a constantly changing flow. This repetition allows students to gradually build confidence, improve posture and mobility, reduce stress, and develop a sustainable practice over time. Traditionally, new students begin with shorter practices focused on Sun Salutations, foundational standing and seated postures, and a simple closing sequence.
Variations and modifications are offered throughout, making the practice approachable for all levels, including those new to yoga or returning to movement after long hours at a desk. Expect a welcoming and supportive atmosphere where you can reset your nervous system, strengthen your body, and reconnect to your breath — all while practicing outdoors in Edmonton’s urban core.
